Hello everybody. I'm the same guy who posted several questions at bluenote's bulletin board several months ago.Since it's closed at the moment I thought to post my question right here:

Has anyone of you bought Yamaha speakers? Are you happy with them? Can you recommend any good Yamaha speakers?

Hi Swinger,
Didn't we talk about this before... Oh well maybe not.
I am not a fan of Yamaha speakers I have to say.
IME, Yamaha made one reasonable speaker, the NS1000. The original with the (highly toxic!) Beryllium driver was pretty good. Still grossly overrated IMO, but then I worship at the alter of another loudspeaker.
The NS10s' were for many years ubiquitous in recording studios. Must be a great sepaker, right? erm... no. Au contraire, it's agoddawful abomination that is so badly designed the tweeter reuires a cloth to be placesd over it to stop your ears from bleeding!
If you are looking for a more refined version of the Yammies, look no further than Finland's own Genelec - these are not cheap but they do the Yammie things only better. You may be able to find some secondhand deals on these in Finland...
Other than that , a lot of people like Dynaudio from Denmark. Again, not cheap, but you might find something secondhand.
These are jsut a couple of ideas, you need to try to hear some for yourself in your own room / system if you can. Speakers are really crucial and are difficult to get right.
IMO, we all listen differently, so my views and anybody elses' should be taken with a big pinch of salt.
