Is anyone out there hip to Don Braden? I simply love his sound, and he's got some nice records out (notably "The Fire Within" and the recent "Brighter Days" on HighNote).....I think he's seriously underrated. Check out Cecil Brooks' recent Live at Sweet Basil recs for example of some of the nicest Tenor ballad playing you will hear. For real.

i've been listening to braden for a few years. enjoyed his performing at litchfield jazz fest in ct. i think he's the artistic director there and runs a school for students of jazz music. the students perform at the festival between headline acts. i really like the artistry of his music. his tone is outstanding . he deserves a listing in the under rated category.

I'm also a Braden fan, and unfortunately, when I think about all the strong younger tenors on the scene, I sometimes tend to forget about Braden. Recommended: Xavier Davis CD "Dance Of Life" which has excellent work by Braden.
