Hi all,
I've been listening to jazz for quite some time now and I'm loving it. I'm not too familiar with names of artists and bands as of yet and was wondering if anyone could recommend some cd's to get.
I'm looking for mostly intrumental jazz with lot's of guitar, bass, sax.
Thanx in advance,
Tyger:cool:

Tyger,
Welcome!
This may be an odd first recommendation to you, since most people would point you in the direction of Miles, Coltrane, Monk, etc...
But today I was listening to my copy of saxophonist Chris Potter's album "Unspoken", which features John Scofield on guitar, Dave Holland on bass, and Jack Dejonette on drums. A very strong, but accessible, contemporary album that you may want to check out if you're looking for something a little different from what others might recommend.
Good Luck!

It really depends on what forms of jazz you really like.

Since DeJohnette's name has been mentioned try anything by him, Keith Jarrett and Gary Peacock.
There is a discussion on their last collaboration on the new releases/reviews section.
