A young man with a sound that’s wise-beyond-his-years, Peter Cincotti has emerged as a quadruple threat: singer, pianist, composer, and arranger. From the age of seven, Peter became Harry Connick Jr’s instant protégé, and has performed with him on his Come By Me tour. Then there’s the potential Sinatra connection for Peter’s starring role in the award-winning off-Broadway revue Our Sinatra. Now with his self-titled debut, he features his own compositions alongside a heartfelt and unique rendition of the Beatles’ “Fool on the Hill,” with a surprise segue into the classic Nat King Cole tune, “Nature Boy.” An exceptional jazz musician, Peter has already caught the attention of many, including renowned critic Rex Reed of the New York Observer who has declared, “this much talent, polish and virtuosity in a teenager may not even be legal.”

Peter will be releasing his album on March 11, 2003, but samples of his songs can be heard now at www.concordrecords.com.

Whatever happened to Sergio Salvatore? He was another child prodigy in the jazz world. He's probably about 20-21 now.

Ya think? ;)

As it happens, I've recently heard another young phenomenon:
Texas-based pianist Taylor Eigsti, who's probably 19 by now. He wowed the crowd on the S/S Norway when he was 16, has played with many luminaries, recorded with two Brubecks (Dan and Chris) and is releasing his first CD, Resonance, any minute.
Great chops, but he actually uses them to say something.

Note: I make absolutely no money from posting this.

I saw Peter Cincotti the other night at the Algonquin Hotel in New York. He's amazing. I cant believe he's only 19. I'm definitely looking foward to buying his album on March 11th.
