In order to improve my theory and improvisational skills I'm currently analyzing tunes on my own. It occurred to me that this might be better as a group effort. I have a chart of Chet Baker's version of Autumn in New York that includes all his playing as well as all the reharmonization of the chords. I don't know if there is way to post it here or not, but I'd be willing to post it for the group if there is.
What I had in mind was a bar by bar, phrase by phrase group analysis of the tune, breaking apart the chord progression, the tonal changes, what Chet is playing over the changes, so that I can better learn.
Is there any interest in something like this? If so I can start by putting up the first phrase with my thoughts as far as they go and we can go from there.
Yes? No?

Bill,
We've been using an affilliated (free) forum for posting musical examples:
http://www.freejazzinstitute.org
You can put the sound up at either site--which will be helpful.
We'd love to see your transcriptions.
BTW, I was Chet's arranger/sideman for over three years. My solo on "Another You" on "C H Concert" in NYC can be found at the same site under "Transcriptions."

That is great. I'll post it here. I was able to pull it from a midi file on one of the jazz transcription sites. Band in Box pulls in the midi file and translates it into notation. Pretty slick. I'll see about getting it up if there is interest from folks in the anlysis. I've keep getting a little bit more, but I'm still stuck on some stuff.

I don't think that you need a poll: Just put it up and people will respond on one level or another here.

I've signed for the site but can't log in yet. Once I can, I'll post the PDF of the file.

Bill,
Good. We can do most of the posts here in this thread, but refer readers to freejazzinstitute for the music and audio. Post the PDF in the "Transcriptions" section.
Best,

I've started a new thread for the actual analysis.
