This is the best program I have ever seen for learning how to play and learning quickly! My whole family has learned using this method. And it will save you thousands by teaching you in a really short period of time - instead of taking years of lessons. There are some free online lessons too.

Check it out - www.piano-by-ear.com

Hey 3,

What do you have against getting a private teacher? In my view there is no substitute for the mentoring with regard to how to think and practice that is gained by studying with a master, so that your time isn't squandered by wandering in the dark.

In addition, I would never trust a "learn piano in one lesson": This is a cliche joke. Please. You will get your money's worth with a "free" lesson: nothing for nothing!

Ed's right. Piano requires a certain amount of discipline and correct training (as with most any other instrument). I spent 6 years with a piano teacher, although I don't have one anymore... I wish I did. You'll get focused soooo much quicker on what it is you need to work on with a good teacher by your side. I'm still overwhelmed with all the things I can work on on piano, and that's after taking lessons for 6 years.

Try my Music Teacher Locator: http://www.apassion4jazz.net/teacher_locator.html .

Just enter your zip code and the distance you are willing to drive. Some instructors may make house calls. However, the teachers/schools listed in the database have not been endorsed by me and you must make you own judgments.
