Such an amazingly great tune.
What are your guy's aproaches to soloing over it?

very carefully.
This is a tricky tune, I'm still working on figuring it out myself.
But I love this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82rNjQpYDbg&mode=related&search= version with Herbie, Tony and Buster.

On this one, it depends on two things.... What changes do you use... Miles' or Monks? Sometimes people use Monk's A sections and Miles' bridge (which seems to be the most common permutation I come across).
Anyway, great tune, I think I might go play it for an hour.

I'm doing this tune in one of my ensembles and I've been studying it a lot. Triads are a great way to unlock this tune. The melody has arpeggios right in it. Right there you have lots of information to work with. Try using upper structure arpeggios to create a new sound using the same motif in the tune. In other words. take the first bar Eb-7 & C-7b5. The motif in the melody has an Eb- triad with a 9 in it. The notes are Eb, F, Gb, Bb. Trying playing a GbMaj arpeggio with an added 9th degree (Gb, Ab, Bb, Db)over the first bar then resolving it to a melody note in the second bar. You can do this kind of thing all over the place while still playing off the melody.
This melody is one of my favorite melodies ever composed. It's so dark and eerie yet friendly. This tune needs bluesy playing as well. I would recommend you listen to Wes play it. Here is the link.

As stated above, agree on which changes to use...and ignore the Real Book's changes.
