Dunno if Patricia13 is listening, but I sure appreciate your sending the link. Great stuff. Thanks much.

This just reminds me how excited I am to hopefully be going to USC in 2 years time.

It's looking like they have a powerhouse of a jazz program.

I transcribed the odd ball So What intro a while back: http://gennation.jconserv.net/viewtopic.php?t=29

I have permission form Mr. Ligon to adapt his transcriptions for guitar. I'm almost done with Miles' solo from So What, and then I'm going to do his Straight No, Chaser solo. Bert's got some great stuff at his site, and others should know it :)

I just hope I can pump it down to some guitarists to give them some treats from the Masters :)

EthanW, I'd LOVE to be in your shoes for that!!! Bert's site is actually the "faculty" site for the college, you probably already knew that. But, have a look around.

Yeah, I'm gonna be studying with him next summer during the week long conservatory program, and then when i get out of HS (This upcoming year is my junior year) I'm planning on applying for the jazz performance degree at the school. ~pimp:

Very Early is such a nice tune... sucks that noone around here knows it.

I definitely know the tune. The closest thing I have is John Mclaughlin's version from the Belo Horizante album. I also have the "Bill Evans Fakebook" leadsheet. There's always the Realbook. Not quite "transcriptions", except for John's.

I received an email from Win Hinkle, a Washington, D.C. bassist who has an interesting blog devoted to Bill Evans:
Win's Bill Evans Blog (http://bewinblog.blogspot.com)

Win has done a detailed analysis of Bill's rendition of On a Clear Day, based on a published transcription of a recorded performance.
