I'm a noob so I don't know where I should post this but here goes.

This is a big band song that I have heard a lot recently in a few commercials. I'm pretty sure that it is a real song. So please listen, it's only 30 seconds but it is the melody.

It sounds like that song "Steppin' Out", but I have no idea what band it might be.

The full title is actually "Steppin' Out with My Baby," written by Irving Berlin. The best-known recordings of this tune are several versions by Fred Astaire. The clip sounds vintage enough to be an excerpt from one of Astaire's recordings with a studio orchestra, but I have no clue as to whether it actually is.

I don't think it is "Steppin out with my baby" but it does sound similar. I appreciate your help and hop that more people continue to search their memory banks. I'm sure some one out there knows the name of this song.

Your original post stated that the clip was the melody, but it sounds to me like a variation of the melody, and it may be excerpted from one of the MGM studio orchestra backings for Astaire. Does anyone here know who did those arrangements? Many of them were included in the "That's Entertainment" LP box-set many years back.
