Hi all, any ideas for some adding some chord movement on the begining
4 bars of Bye Bye Blackbird (in F)

My chart just has F for 4 bars .............

For the fun of it I just came up with three different ways to approach those four measures, but all of them are just too weird. However I now have something most interesting to play around with. Thanks! (One of my ways has the first measure as F13, then G7#9 to F#7#9 for the second measure. Then it really gets weird.)

Ta but as you probably guessed I was hoping for some options for
vamping around the F tonality without going too far out
thanks anyway

The submediant (d minor 7 w/ its extensions) is the traditional option there. Suspensions are also good

hey bang. maybe something old-school like this:

FMaj / F#dim / | Gmi / C9 / | Ami / Abdim / | Gmi / C9 /...

that works nice w/ the melody as well.

or maybe just a real basic I - VI - ii - V, one bar per chord, works fine. something like this:

FMaj /// | D7(#9) /// | Gmi /// | C7sus ///...

and of course always listen to what everyone around you is doing as much as you can.

hope this is useful and fun for you.
