View Full Version : Boycott of Pepsi

Have you heard that there is a letter writing campaign on the internet to boycott Pepsi because of their leaving out the words "Under God" in one of their promotions?

Don't people realize that this has not always been in our Pledge of Allegiance? We were doing just fine without this being inserted into it, we were just as good, without it, (most of us believing in our hearts that our God would help us out, or we certainly hoped and prayed that he would,) and evidently, just as powerful. I am not against the pledge as it is, but would prefer it the way it was when we were saying it during WWII.

The person who sends me so much of this type of mail, also sent me a letter depicting a Mexican wearing the large sombrero, and the bandirillos across his chest, all sweaty and dirty, really a swarthy, scarry looking bandito type, then when I read the letter it was complaining bitterly about the influx of illegal aliens of all nationalities, I found it to be hate mongering, and it was distressing to see. It really did bother me. The letter asked to be forwarded, however I wrote back and told her that in all good consciounse I just couldn't. I told her my reasons, and she hatefully told me I needed to get out my history books and find out what I was talking about. Having studied that a lot in school, and having known many illegals, I full well knew what I was talking about, and if you were to see the barrage of letters similar to these, wrapped in religion, you really wouldn't believe it. People signing petitions blindly all over the world in these letters, totally radical bigotry, and disdain for any dissenting thoughts. If these types had their way, our press would be like a third worlds, controlled by a dictator, or the military. We would be back in the world of the Puritans, where not doing what is wanted by their establishment would warrent a knock on the head with their long stick. Another analogy here, but this is how they want it. Their form of belief governing everything in our lives. This type of person scares me for our future.

Saundra,
Be very VERY careful about replying to these. You might get into the situation of becoming the target. These people would think nothing of launching a Denial of Service attack on your in-box or worse. You can dig out a lot of information about someone from the addressing data that is carried with an e-mail.

However distressing it is either ignore it, or if it is illegal, contact the authorities, but NEVER reply. Also, if you are using Outlook, switch off the acknowledgement system. (If in doubt, PM me and I will tell you how)

Hello Tenorman!

I know you are right, and since the Illegial Alien letter, I haven't replied to any of them. You should see some of them.

I know who is sending them, she is an ex-service person, whose son is in the Marines, and she is patriotic, and very religious, and personally, I don't believe she herself would do anything untoward, like sabatoge me, but she sure can get hateful, but then send you a prayer and a cute little joke the next time, like one about Santa that is really pretty cute.

Personally, I don't know her, just by email in some business we conducted on eBay. I do need to find out more about computors however, as we did have our account with eBay accessed due to my carelessness. Someone tried to sell a $3,000.00 starting bid car using my email address, they had changed my address to their address, and luckily, eBay caught it, and caught the other expensive item they entered, having accessed my account another time, after I had changed my password the first time. So everyone, be careful out there! They had hijacked an eBay program, not just sure what or how, and had caused a lot of havoc.

I just get so tired of people trying to cram their beliefs down our throats, and it seems that they end up costing us more and more of our rights as U.S. citizens. Like I told Andy, we need to be wary, and know what it is that these groups are trying to accomplish, misguided as I feel they are.

Thanks for your advise and the offer, it is all Greek to me concerning computers, I don't understand the half of it when everyone starts saying what works for them and how to use a certain program, just foreign to me!

Did this person ever read the inscription on the Statue of Liberty? Just what are they defending in the military these days? It would bother me too to receive such a message. Best to avoid such messages. You got punked!
