This Canadian saxophonist is a new discovery for me.
Got his "Brian Barley Trio 1970" disc in the discount bin the other day, Barley's only leader date.
Very interesting saxophone trio disc, in the tradition of the early Archie Shepp. Intricate compositions and playing from Barley and the bass guitar-drum back-up section.
All that I could muster up is that he was fond of Coleman, Dolphy, Shepp and Pharaoh and died in 1971 at the age of 28 as a result of an epilepsy attack.
Spun.com has one disc left. Well worth the $5 or 6 they're asking for it. The recording quality isn't the best I've heard, but it's pretty listenable.

Any addition info?
