I'm intrigued by the singer Jackie Paris, whom I've heard only on the Mingus Debut box. Any suggestions on other recordings to seek out by this vocalist?

The only one I ever got in to, and a long time ago at that was
Jackie Paris and Anna Marie Moss Live at the maisonette vol 1

Don't think vol 2 ever appeared.. I remember really only being into the first two tracks,, My shining Hour and Thou Swell, probably because Daddy O Dailyee used to play it all the time.

Think I might still have it somewhere.

That's what I like about these forums ( is fora the current word or was it just rhyming slang) makes you dig out ild records and give them another listen.

I was intrigued by his contribution to "Changes Two". I found an album under his name that was released fairly recently - probably "The Intimate Jackie Paris". Very disappointing. His voice was terribly out of tune - almost embarassing.

He did an album for Impulse!, but I've never heard it.

He was a jazz singers singer but never got the popularity he deserved. He had the best vocal on Skylark I've ever heard. Last time I heard about him he was gigging in Japan.

Jackie released a very nice CD in 2001 on Hudson HUD1001. He accompanies himself on guitar with Mike Richmond playing bass, It's called "The Intimate Jackie Paris"

I had heard about his loss of voice but he sounds very nice on this CD

I believe I had another album - not "Intimate". It was not good, though.
