What's a Mosaic CD?

I've heard a reference to "Mosaic" on several threads.

Is this a music label? distributor?

What makes their albums more desireable (so it seems)

Mosaic is based in Connecticut and they collect a series of sessions that are related by style or artist and package them into some very lovely box sets. The sets are not cheap but worth every penny. The sets are limited in number or duration and wind up going out of print forever. After they go out of print you can buy them on Ebay at stratospheric prices.
