Just received the latest two
Stan Getz vol 5 MJCD 195
Wardell Gray vol 7 MJCD 198

I have no idea what the two inbetween are.
No mention of them on the new "owners" site

www.nextmusi.fr

I got mine from France via Borgia at
jazzclifford@aol.com

This is not Spam just ulterior motive. On the other defunct board someone from France posted that Next Music might not be interested in continuing series like the Gray / Getz etc.
Big pity for those of us with "completist tendencies about certain artists.. The Gray claims three previously unissued tracks of Wardell in the company of Goodman

So if anyone is interested in seeing some of these come to a conclusion.. e.g. the Gray.. this might be a source, and might just stimulate continuing the series

Isabelle Marquis email mastersofjazz@noos.fr seems to be the person in charge of these releases.

I just picked up four of these on ebay (Lester Young, Wardell,
Dizzy and Miles) for pretty dirt cheap. Doesn't seem much interest from the ebay buyers.

where the Diz and miles new? What numbers???

I'd really like to say these are important... , for selfish reasons... but hell if you " Jazz lovers" don't understand what these people were doing... guess you don't like jazz... you might have not liked the music.. but if you didn't like the concept........
think awhile... one day you will.

PDEE, I'm the 'someone from France' who announced the expected demise of the Masters of Jazz series on the BNBB. And I have unfortunately no reason to change this opinion. The people involved in the Masters of Jazz series went on to other things.
The www.nextmusic.fr site is useless.
I have left messages on Isabelle Marquis's phone number and got no call back.
I don't expect to see any new releases from the series. Sad business.

Thanks for the reply Brownie.. didn't see it for awhile... the new threads pushed this over to the second page.. on the BNBB I rarely had to go look ing for reasonably active threads due to the forum set up. I hope it gets done here too.

Please keep me ( us ) informed if you are proven wrong.

BTW read your 'coming ashore " statement you and I were born the same year.. good to kniow that they are not all whippersnappers around here...

PD,

The Wardell Gray was the same as you have, the Dizzy was Volume 9 1946-1947 and the Miles was Volume 2 1946. They're supposed to be new and sealed. I could make a cdr if you wish.

The name of the seller is priced-lesscds.

Thanks Brad, I have them.. I'm a bit of a Chronological madman.. it started when I used to commit my LPs to reel to reel tape.. long before cassettes... to save the LPs from wear and tear..and after a few false starts I just entered them chronologically... made things easier to find. The habit stuck and I carried it ver to cassette and now CDr.. so things like the Masters of Jazz series when I discovered them were a blessing.

I have all the ones issued so far that I needed.

Next Music dumping the concept is a real pain.

Thanks for the offer.. if you are stuck for something let me know..I might have it
