Does anyone know of easy-to-use software to record directly from, say, a jazz station on the internet to a CD?
Thanks,

From a technical point of view the existence of such a tool seems unlikely to me. - You will have to record to wav-files (or possibly mp3) and then burn a CD from there.

There is a program called Replay Radio which might be what you are looking for. It allows you to save to CD or mp3. Here's the link:

The audio CD writing software Feurio (the very best in my view) also has a sound recording and editing function.
The program is unrestricted shareware.

Thanks! I'm going to get them both and see which one this "techno-klutz" (that would be me) can figure out!

Please let us know how the suggested solutions work out. I've found another, maybe simpler, maybe cheaper, way to do this. There is a company on the internet called C.Crane which has a small simple piece of electronics which you plug into the earphone socket on your computer. It then sends an fm signal with the audio from your computer to any fm radio or receiver in your house. I presume you have a cassette recorder or cd burner in your audio rig somewhere in your setup which you can use the way you normally do. Works pretty well and it's simple to use.

I was just messing about with an old but very good recording walkman I own and tried to record a jazz program fromthe internet on tape. Got a double male jack from
radio shack ( It has the kind of a jack on a walkman stereo earphones which plugs into on your computeror your walkman-but at both ends) PLUG ONE END INTO THE EARPHONE JACK ON YOUR COMPUTER-PLUG THE OTHER END INTO THE INPUT OF YOUR WALKMAN RECORDER. TUNE THE WANTED JAZZ STATION INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND PUSH 'RECORD' ON YOUR WALKMAN.If you want to listen as you record, you'll probably find a plug for earphones on your walkman--plug in and listen.
I know you want to record it on cd. If you own a cd burner the same technique will probably work on that too. I'm gonna try it, will report on success or failure later.

I think the program you want is Total Audio Recorder. It records the stream to your hard drive digitally, rather than through the soundcard which involves an unnecessary (and perhaps inferior) round of D/A and A/D conversion. It's also only $12. (I'm not familar with replay-radio, perhaps it is similar.)
