Hi!, first of all excuse my english, I'm gonna try to do my best.

I was watching on tv a tribute to Louis Armstrong were several jazz artists played. I sow playing a band that got in the deepest of my soul. But I could understand the name of the band. I'm gonna describe all the information that I have about them hopping that someone can please help me.

They were four men, two were black and two white. One of their songs is named Avalon. They began playing in the 30's and the day that they played on this tribute to Louis Armstrong was the first time they played on tv and they were about 60 or 65 years old. The instruments they played were a piano played by a black man, the drums by a white man, a clarinete by the other white man and the cello by the other black man.

That's all the information that I got about them. I Know is not too much, but I hope it's enought for someone to help me learn this band's name.

Thank's a lot for your help and for spending your time reading this message.

Sounds to me like the classic Benny Goodman quartet, with Goodman on clarinet, Lionel Hampton on vibes, Teddy Wilson on piano, Gene Krupa on drums. They were a working group from 1936 til 1938, and they got back together a few times, mostly for recording purposes, until Krupa died in 1973.
