Have both LPs on vinyl and would love to see Capitol/Blue Note put this out on CD (with some unreleased/alt takes), but since they're on everyone's shpitlist right now...!!!...who knows...

Both these sessions have been together on one CD.. though I bet its long OOP.. but as it's basically a Mainstream type disc, it may not be that hard to find in these necrophobia days..

( Sorry P'...Rock just a joke)

I don't have any idea if there are anty extra takes / unissued tracks but yo're right, If there are I'd like to see them too.

I picked up a vinyl copy of Session At Riverside today. Was totally unaware of this session before and haven't had a chance to listen yet. I googled the title and up came this thread. :)

Sometimes when things start popping up in the used bins there may be a cd in the near future.

This is available now in the U.K. on the Lonehill Jazz label under the title Complete Session at Riverside/Midnight, Harry Sweets Edison and Charlie Shavers.

I have long had the last issue on CD, but on noticing it in a shop a week or so ago, a quick glance really, I am sure there are no extra tracks on this new issue. I may be wrong though!

I only have the vinyl issue of 'Session At Riverside' (reissue by EMI Denmark) -
the notes do refer to a number of inferior takes(for various reasons) so perhaps additional worthwhile material is not available
