This question is really for anyone in the UK - I have a reel to reel tape which I think has some music of my own recorded with a long lost band but I remember it being quite interesting. The problem is (a) I haven't got a tape recorder to play it on any longer and (b) am not sure what else is on the tape. Ideally I would like to transcribe it onto CD but I need to know what is on it first. There are commerical places I can get it copied but they won't tell me what's on it first. It was recorded on a late 1960s Philips 4 track mono tape recorder and probably at 3.75ips. Although I wrote what was on the tape on its box, I cannot be sure it's all still there. Is there anyone out there in the UK with an old but working reel to reel who would be prepared to quickly play this tape to confirm the contents? The bonus for any volunteer for this project is that if the box contents is accurate then there is a long lost 1970s programme from BBC Radio of Harry Miller's Isipingo on the tape (feat Keith Tippett, Mike Osborne et al).

Sorry folks - think I may have now found a friendly neighbourhood recording studio with 'heritage' equipment.
