In the mid 1970s there was a show on NPR called Jazz Wave. Around 1974-5, I taped a broadcast of a great Charles Mingus concert. As I recall, it consisted of For Harry Carney (better than the recorded version), Opus 3 (incredible 30 minute version), the Devil Blues, Duke Ellington's Sound of Love (long and gorgeous version), and Goodbye Pork Pie Hat (not otherwise recorded by the George Adams/Don Pullen Mingus unit). I listened to this tape many times, but unfortunately the reel to reel machine malfunctioned at some point and erased it. Has anyone ever heard of this? I should would love to find a copy.
