Just curious, has anyone bought any equipment listed on audiogon.com? I'm interested in all opinions, good and bad.

I recommend that you go to www.audioasylum.com, where you will find many threads on Audiogon experiences, which range from very pleased to very DISpleased ;)

One can get excellent equipment and deals there-- and one can get seriously burnt. Bottom line in all such transactions: Caveat Emptor- Let the Buyer Beware. And hope for some luck

Yes, I bought a Rega P3 2000 there last year. Perhaps I was lucky, but the seller was the nicest guy in the world. After I received it, I had to call him about the setup, which he kindly walked me through with incredible patience. I would buy there again. In fact, I think there are many great opportunities for savings because the committed audiophile set is always upgrading. Just do your due diligence and check both feedback and comparables to increase your confidence that what you are looking at should be bid on.

I've made three purchases through Audiogon...all worked out well. Checking feedback is a good place to start. I also establish an email dialogue prior to purchase. The communication gave me some insight into the seller. I found if the guy was really into audio, willing to discuss other topics other than the item being sold, the sale went well. I've walked away from seemingly good deals because of bad vibes. Good Luck!
