Hi gang,
I'm currently using a Denon turntable with a Stanton cartridge to play 33 rpm and 45 rpm records. Knowing that the turntable can be used to play 78 rpm records I'm curious to know which brand or model or cartridge and stylus should I use to do it.
Thanks.

I've heard good things about the Shure M78S. Haven't used one myself, but a buddy who's into old bluegrass thinks they're just the thing; cheap and durable.

Depending on the characteristics of your system, I would lean towards the Grado line of mono 78 cartridges. They off a couple of different models and price ranges. I've heard great things about the sound on 78's, so I would tend to go with the better cartridge. They offer a 78c and a 78e cartridge for $80 and $130. I was under the impression that Rega made a 78 cartridge, but I could be wrong - I know that they do make a 78 turntable. I would give Josh a call at Music Direct 800.449.8333, they know a lot about cartridges and analog gear.
