Chocolate!

I love chocolate. I can eat chocolate all day. All week. It's one of those rare, heavenly pleasures, like jazz or making love. I think m&m's plain is the greatest non-gourmet chocolate candy there is. Let us give all praise to chocolate.

just about any chocolate will do, but i LOVE the chocolate truffles they sell at my county farmers market. i just picked up a bag yesterday. mmm, hard chocolate shell filled with softer (but *NOT* gooey) chocolate inside.

eating those must be sort of like the sensation a cat gets when it bites through a mole's skull into those juicy mole brains.

so delicious.

I used to work in a small chocolate factory...I ate chocolate all day!!!

If you want another excuse to indulge, they have discovered that something in the cocoa bean is one of the best cough medicines around. Get your chocolate on prescription!!

Bev Stapleton November 24th, 2004 02:37 PM

I kicked chocolate cold turkey nearly four years ago. Havn't touched it since. Cutting my sugar intake has made me feel a million times better.

So please don't tell me chocolate is good for me!

Only if you have a cough :angel

Phew!

I really enjoy my Born Again Non-Chocolate Eater persona. Sitting in self-satisfied silence whilst all around guzzle Mars bars delivers its own puritanical high!

OK, Bev, if you ever want to break the ban (and take a giant step up from mars Bars!), try Seattle's Dilettante Chocolates. I was given a sampler as a gift and have never in my life had chocolate that came close to this stuff. I'm not sure if they'll ship to Europe, but it's worth a try. (Hint: get some truffles!)

What the HELL is in the air lately?! The topic of chocolate has been brought up by men around me more the last month than in all of the years I've lived!!!!
And we guys make such a big deal about how women are strung out on the stuff. I'm speechless................really am..................................

soshigaya November 25th, 2004 02:03 AM

I love chocolate. Currently trying 'Venezuela Bitter' Carre De Chocolat. Quite yummy, the milk one is good too.

Well, I'm pleased to see all you gents getting enthusiastic about something we're so "strung out" about. <g> Looks like you are, too!

I like fudge. My aunts fudge. I had her recipe, but can't find it for the life of me, and it is just so good, just thinking about it now is creating an urge to make it, but no recipe, and no cocoa or canned milk here to do it with.

In Hawaii they make a great fudge, it tastes homemade, and it has Macadamia Nuts in it, and talk about delicious it tastes just like homemade. or it used to. They make a great carrot cake over there too. They will ship the fudge, or so I hear, but I don't know the name of it, but they serve it on Hawaiia Air, or one of the airlines out of there. Hawaiian Airlines ??? Can't think of the name of the airlines either. Need to look into this as I could use a fix.

I like See's Candy, it is so good, and their pecan rolls are to die for, and then for sheer beauty in chocolate, there's Moon Struck Chocolates, I think that's their name, they're in Portland & they will ship. We used to get their chocolates in for special times of the year in our shop, until the little ants found them and got inside of the wrapping, and after thet we didn't carry them. They use gold leaf on some of them, and they have the most fantastical boxes, cresent moons, books, etc, and the designs of their chocolates are just so pretty, almost too pretty to eat.

Go to the Controversial and/or Informative Site and look up the "Bourban Ball "recipe. They smack of chocolate and they are a stiff shot besides, and talk about good. ;) :elephant: ;)

There are several recipes online, some made with rum, and other types of liquor, and rolled in cocoa and coffee beans, they are so good. I don't like them with powdered sugar, I don't really like powdered sugar on anything, looks pretty sometimes, but it just tastes terrible but mixed in with everything in the recipe, it's o.k, I just don't like them rolled in it. Super easy to make but try to stop eating them! I find it hard, forgetting that they have potent liquor in them, it hasn't been cooked away, it's like taking a shot.

Dark chocolate, preferably with minimal sugar is my choice. :D

Used to love Toblerones when in my teens. Find them too sweet now.
