Went to the last night of her concert at Albert Hall paid top dollar for a box seat but all I saw along with at least 50% of the audience was the back of Ms. Krall head due the bad positioning of the piano. Also a least one number I had no idea what she was singing about. I think the venue was to big for her voice.

Did anybody else go to the concert and if so what are there views?

I didn't go but did she have her back to the bass and drums?

That, in the jazz staging business, is called "The Oscar Peterson Set Up".
Some pianists like that because they can hear the bass and drums better and the bass player can see the pianists hands.

Sometimes it's call "The Ahmad Jamal" too.

Martial Solal sets up that way too, at least he did when I've seen him with the Moutin twins. Cant think of anyone else off hand... but wouldn't it have a lot to do with the size and shape of the venue?
