That must be a truly terrible record player, Roger. After all 180 grams is only the weight that records were before the great oil price hike of 1973 which led to record company accountants insisting on the amount of vinyl in LPs being reduced and reduced until you almost bend them in half. When LPs first appeared in the early 50s they were routinely 220 grams or more (check early Vogues) and cost prices like 39/11d which was a hell of a lot of money then, almost as much as I've just forked for these two.
Reading their website, I don't think they will be releasing digital downloads of the Hayes and Harriott, though there is something about future digital downloads and vinyl issues of some live concerts, but not necessarily jazz. |
