When unexpected extremely humorous situations arise. Happens almost every week. AND not being depressed or angst - the very absence of these feelings is just amazing, not that I´m mentally ill, but these feelings are so devastating for a productive, happy life.

And love? Icing on the cake, I´d say. What do I know? I´m relatively young.

If love is the icing on the cake, then the icing makes the cake for me.

I don't mean just romantic love. I mean parental, filial, friendship love. Even the love of what we do and who we are. Without all these we can't get where we are or where we want to be. I realize this more and more each day. And I'm trying to celebrate it in my life.

I see a lot of these little things that make a day falling under the blanket of love. I can't help it. . .the last few decades of my life have made me a "big picture" guy.

I agree- although if love is the icing on the cake- What is the cake? For me, I either just have a plate of icing, or I can't see the little bit of cake that I do have... Everything that is good in my is relative to the bonds I have with the people I love.

A warm fall day, driving or walking and in no hurry to get somewhere.

Spending time together as a family with my wife and kids.

Not reading any more treacly posts about love.

Sharing a good laugh with someone.

Hearing great music that is new to me.

I get it, but when I have a 15 pages assignment, choir direction, aethstetic sciences theory and practicing in my spare time I don´t see how I should have either energy or desire for a relationship. Of course I only do the beforementioned out of love to music.

I think there is a huge difference between love in general and love between a man and a woman. The latter is extremely complex, full of mind games, viciousness, lust, desire and many other emotions - also positive ones sure. I´m just not ready to buy the entire package.

Annoying text messages from my mom from back home.

Cute girls.

Making people laugh or people making me laugh..

Crazy people.

That song.. the song that moves me so much in some way or another or makes me feel so good at the time. Whether its the perfect pop song or has raw intensity.. I think you all know what I mean I dont need to explain. Mothership Connection by P-Funk, The Way by Fastball, Lots of songs written by Joseph Arthur, Caribe by Michel Camilo, Para Oriente by Trio of Doom, Don't Speak by No Doubt, Weezer's entire blue album, Sublime, any Jimi Hendrix, any burnin tunes Ray Brown played on... all examples of songs/albums/artists that have made me feel something.

Coke. The drink.

Aspirin.

Having so many good friends..

Pluckin my bass...

I would say my long time girlfriend, but she just dumped me for another guy in way too short of a time... Guess I gotta focus on these little things..

Don't sweat it too much, Adam. I've been dumped so many times they named a landfill in Staten Island after me. Keep working on the music and everything falls into place. And you'll get the girl!
