This live broadcast was even better than his recent studio record Dark Eyes!

Five used CDs that I bought today are currently playing on shuffle mode in my CD player:

UFO TOFU -- Bela Fleck & The Flecktones
Beautiful Love -- Weslia (as she spelled it then) Whitfield
Mysterious Shorter -- Nicholas Payton, Bob Belden, Sam Yahel, John Hart & Billy Drummond
Jools Holland's Big Band Rhythm & Blues -- with guests such as Van Morrison, George Harrison, Dr. John, Jamiroquai, Steve Winwood, Taj Mahal, etc.
The Big 80's: Christmas -- Various Artists (80's Christmas music from the likes of Hall & Oates, Queen, Squeeze, The Ramones, The Pretenders, etc.)

Glenn Branca - The Ascension. Very interesting stuff, you can sometimes hear some classical motifs in this completely guitar-based music, and at the same time there are obvious rock influences. And it's often dissonant as well. Amazing combination.

I see we both have a Melford thing going tonight Save. Big Picture's a good one. Heart Mountain is quite different -- a series of 19 generally short piano-viola improvisations ranging in length from a little over 1 minute to just under 6 minutes.
