"Todd" by the now defunct band, I Voted For Kodos (my new favorite band name!).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Npp7zYvc1Xo

People always talk about Todd, and they wonder why he's blue
What they don't understand is that Todd just needs a little love too
Never see him with a girlfriend, and they always wonder why
But all they can ever say is, "Todd's a nice guy!"

Based on that post I assume you are already familiar with A Winged Victory for the Sullen ( maybe you even have it ).

If not, check it out, I think you'll like it. It's absolutely beautiful!

Of Thee I Sing & Let 'Em Eat Cake -- Cast albums. Two Gershwin musicals (with book by George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind on both), with essentially the same cast of characters, but with two very different fates. Of Thee was a big critical and commercial success and the first musical to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, in 1932. The title tune, "Love Is Sweeping The Country" and "Who Cares?" were the 3 tunes most remembered from this show. The story deals with a president who is impeached because of romantic problems. Could never happen.

A couple of years later, Pres. Wintergreen is running for re-election in Let 'Em, but he loses to Pres. Tweedledee (whose name alone gives you some idea of Kaufman & Ryskind's view of politics & politicians). He thereupon starts a revolution to overthrow the government and install himself as dictator. A much darker theme which did not find much acceptance in Depression era theater goers, so the show closed after 90 performances. "Mine" is the only tune that sustained any life outside the show. There are several other good tunes with clever lyrics in the show, but they are story specific songs.

Mestis is a 'solo' project from guitarist Javier Reyes (Animals As leaders, TRAM). Also on this EP are drummer Morgen Agren and fellow Animals guitarist Tosin Abasi.

After having spent several days working in an environment where I had to listen to the "classic rock" station playing on the radio and getting to the point that if I heard "Sweet Home Alabama" one goddamn more time you would hear me scream no matter where in the world you are, I got myself an mp3 player. I have since downloaded a bunch of old time radio programs such as Jack Benny, Fred Allen, Fibber McGee & Molly, Suspense, Bogie and Bacall in Bold Venture, Dragnet, etc.

I never knew radio in its golden era. It's such a shame the wasteland radio has become today. Listening to these old programs demonstrates how truly entertaining radio could be in suitably creative hands.
