It's hard to pick one, but a tune that definitely are very beautiful, is Benny Golsons song in memory to Clifford Brown! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5dy2HbzeCc

I really like "God Bless the Child" and "Afro Blue." I was looking through some CDs and remembered them. I also like almost all jazz versions of Beatles' songs I have heard. Peace and goodwill.

I really like "On Green Dolphin Street" too. On all of these tunes I like, it is because of the melody. For me there are so many that I like that I cannot think of any until I am reminded of them. Peace and goodwill.

The Folks Who Live On The Hill - Mel Torme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlhsgq_qo6Q

This song has a special place in my heart as my husband and I were "the folks who lived on the hill." He has since passed but hearing that song brings back a lot of happy memories, both happy and sad. I adore Mel Torme, and his version is the best!

Sorry to hear about your husband's passing. I can imagine it is great that songs like this one colour your memories, the moments you've shared together. Thank you for sharing this.
I love Mel Tormé btw.

A song that is one of my favourites and especially since I can feel her pain in it: I'm a fool to want you - Billie Holiday

Here's another favourite, Bud Powell's Celia, it's another one of those melodies that creep into your head and never leave. I'm trying to learn the piano part on bass, it's not easy.
