Hey Al,
Thanks for checking out my site. To check out some of the different tips I've written on there is a pull-down menu on the right hand side of the homepage that lists different categories of things I've written on that have helped my students and I. In the past I had it labeled as just "Categories" and after seeing your post decided to change the title to hopefully make it a little easier to find those posts. So it's now called "Tip/Post Categories." My posts do point to my books, but they're all tips (every Monday for over a year straight...at least on improv tips) that have added value and benefit to my playing. Not all of the tips I've posted on are in my books. I'm not a web guru, so I apologize for any search confusion for what you're looking for. The concept of targeting that I talk about in my book and throughout various tips is simply aiming for a goal note with purpose. The book looks at different ways we can target that note. We come at it from above or below. There's a preview page of the concept you can find here https://secure.digitalcontentcenter....2539/products/ Click on "View Details" under Targeting: Improvisation With Purpose and you can view a sample page. I hope that helps and answers your question. Thanks again for checking out the site and I hope it adds value and benefit to you in some way! All the best, Jason

Part 5, the final part in the Composing Contemporary Charts series, is up on my site at http://jasonklobnak.com. In the final part we take a look at adding the final touches/edits and asking the question: If I make this change-will it improve it? I hope you've enjoyed this series!

OK, thanks Jason. I see now that you mean well, and aren't just advertising your stuff.
Your tips would be 10 times more useful to viewers, and you'd do a better job of selling your stuff if you could make them easier to access. Look at what someone needs to do in order to just find out the basic concept between your entire site: "There's a preview page of the concept you can find here https://secure.digitalcontentcenter....2539/products/ Click on "View Details" under Targeting: Improvisation With Purpose and you can view a sample page. " No one would find that info on their own in a million years. Spend an hour and put together a table of contents for all your tips. The drop down thing doesn't really work well. It's taken me a while to get to your main message, which is "Targeting is aiming and moving at a goal note with purpose." Which I would state as: "Targeting refers to the concept of aiming at and moving towards a particular goal note in phrases of your solo. For example, you might wish to end on the third scale degree at the end of a phrase." etc... That should be on your main page.

Hey Al,
Thank you for the taking the time to give your feedback-I appreciate the thoughts and will give them some consideration. I agree with you that sites should strive to make content accessible to their viewers and I haven't had any complaints prior. To clarify, my "main message" is not just my thoughts on targeting. The definition I gave in my previous response was a shortened explanation for the sake of time. My website's purpose is to give information on what I'm doing in music, help add value to others by giving tips as well as a vehicle for advertising. All the best, Jason

I have a new post up today on my site http://jasonklobnak.com talking about jazz rhythm solfege. If you're a beginning/intermediate student (or have students in this category) who needs help with timing, phrasing and articulation then I believe this topic will add value and benefit to you and your student's playing.
Enjoy!
