Art Farmer & Hal McKusick Quintet: Complete Studio Recordings (Lone Hill)

Marvelous collection. Farmer has always been one of my favourite trumpet players. And listen to the great but unsung McKusick: I like his alto sound and the way he plays clarinet. Just listen to: "When your lover has gone" - it´s a dream!

On vinyl:
Duke Jordan Trio - Live in Japan (1977)

Bass– Wilbur Little
Drums– Roy Haynes
Piano– Duke Jordan

One of the gratest piano players, but somewhat unsong hero?

This is also out on CD, highly recomended.

My inspiration for playing this on tonight: I was visiting his grave earlier today, here in Copenhagen. There was a photo in a frame, placed by the stone.

It's a desert island disc for me. Depending on my mood i sometimes skip through the 'Study No. 6/Pas De Deux - Lines Ballet/Study No. 6' section though; i like those tracks but i don't always feel like listening to them.

NP - Brad Mehldau - Ode

First impression = Wow! definitely deserves all the praise it's gotten.
