If you like Eno's ambient pieces that wander and take you through a process, rather than bordering on the edges of vaporous melodies, then it's for you. Think The Drop, but the washes arn't as pronounced.
Thanks, sounds like it's for me!

Thanks for the tip(s).

PS: Just bought both; fyi, the best price seems to be at cdbaby.com - $25 USD + Shipping. Pricey, but the sound samples sounded wonderful. Thanks again for the tip, Vaughan.

Yeah, the Bells one isn't cheap - I paid about the same as you. On the plus side the booklet is fascinating, and the music is gorgeous.

When I post about an album I usually try to say something about it, to give an idea of why i enjoy it (or not). However, I can go one better in this case because I found the piece on YouTube.

Vasks is immense, and the CD which this comes from is terrific. He is often compared to Arvo Part, a comparison which I think is valid. Anyway - here's the music and a cover shot of the album.....

Väsen: Whirled. Contemporary Swedish roots music. These guys kill it.

Tony Furtado: Bare Bones. So, I was on campus yesterday at Boise State over the lunch hour, and decided to grab a bite at the Student Union. Next thing I know, I hear this unbelievable slide guitarist playing in a common eating area, so I go sit down right in front of none other than Tony Furtado, playing a solo set. Apparently, he was gigging in Boise last night with his band, but did a side solo gig at the U as part of some series sponsored by a student organization. I couldn’t believe my good luck (although was pretty disheartened to see how few students were there or seemed to appreciate what was going on). I knew who he was right away, having owned a couple of his earlier albums. A top notch slide guitarist and banjo player, and a pretty good singer/songwriter/interpreter.
