Jessica Williams could use your help

I just got an email from Jessica Willams. She recently underwent serious back surgery, in July. She is asking her subscribers to contribute to her if they can. Here's the email in full below:

I AM STILL ASKING POLITELY FOR DONATIONS

I'm through the Lumbar Fusion Back Surgery (On July 25, 2012, 3 fusions at S1-L5-L4, PEEK cages, 6 pedicle screws, interbody cage, bipedicled paraspinal trunk flap, and much much more!) It was a success, we think, and it was terribly difficult, dangerous, and painful. Still is. I'm just reminding you that I am NOT going to be able to play the piano for about 6 months to a year, and I'm STILL asking for donations. I made my living for 50 years playing piano, and have no other skills.

I do NOT want to go on disability, because they won't let you work at all. Musicians don't have pensions or unemployement. Many (like myself) don't have family. All I have is my friends around the world that love my music.

It seems OK for me to ask for help from those who bought my CDs all these years and signed up for my email list without a gun to their head. If you can't donate, that's OK. But if you can donate, please do so.

I am still amazed that these emails have been met by angry moral judgements and vicious political soap-boxing. This isn't about my party affiliation or how I intend to vote. I cannot work. Ergo, I solicit help only from those who have signed up to my e-list. If you feel strongly about giving vs. NOT giving as a religious, political, or moral imperative, I suggest unsubscribing instead of sending me meaningless diatribes about Ayn Rand and Paul Ryan. I'm too busy dealing with the pain and learning how to put my socks on again.

You can donate to my continued habit of eating and living in a house, and even see cool pictures of the insides of Jessica. To all of you, whether you can help or not, thank you for listening.

Love each other... and it's over before you know it.
Jessica Williams, pianist, composer, lumbar veteran / Sept 14th, 2012

~~~~~~~~~~
So, having enjoyed Jessica's piano for many years - I have 29 of her albums - it was a no-brainer for me to donate something ($500) to this amazing woman.
You can donate at this link - Give what you can. Perhaps the price of a CD or whatever you can manage.
Cheers,
I'm bumping this. With Christmas approaching, I thought that people might be in the giving spirit.
Don't know how I missed this first time around, other than that i was traveling. I'm in, and continue to be amazed that folks will actually email her in anger, indignation and other useless responses.
The woman is clearly in pain; if you're not going to do something to make it better, then at the very least why make it worse?
