Online Jazz Piano Lessons
I can't imagine how this would work exactly, but have recently saw a number of very good jazz guitar sites, has anyone taken or have an Online Jazz Piano Lessons site? Curious to see how this might work...

There's Scot Ranney's website www.LearnJazzPiano.com that has contributions by many pro jazz pianists (myself included). Scot does live skype lessons too.
And if it's actually Skype that you're interested in (rather than links to articles) you can't go wrong Dave Frank as a live jazz piano teacher: http://www.davefrankjazz.com/skype/skype.html I don't do lessons via Skype yet - only by telephone, but I have a bunch of gratis articles on jazz piano here: http://piano-lessons-riverside-ca.com/lessonshome.html The incredible jazz pianist Doug McKenzie has published hundreds of instructional jazz piano videos: http://www.bushgrafts.com/jazz/home.htm. Doug is an amazing player as well as a great teacher! Best of Luck!

Check out this thread, "Taking lessons via Skype." It has some helpful stuff. I think that the most important thing is finding a system/site that fits your needs, and sticking with their system. Also, a good teacher is always extremely helpful, and I think that is the best thing in the long run. But for now, check out that thread and organist Tony Monaco's live Skype lessons.

Dave Frank is a monster. I've been studying with him for seven months and I've grown leaps and bounds.
I've been meaning to start lessons with Tony Monaco since I saw him perform in Syracuse. He's a real talent. |

Geoffrey Keezer has online piano lessons!
These are fantastic! Check out Geoffrey's online lessons: KeezersPianoLessons.com
Currently these lessons are geared toward intermediate and advanced players, but I hear he will be coming out with a beginning series soon. Good luck!
