Buddy Collette: Original Westcoaster - quartet and quintet sessions 1956 - 1957
IMHO a splendid selection.
Although generally praised for his flute work I like Collette best for his clarinet sound.

Randy Crawford & Joe Sample - LIVE
w/ Steve Gadd & Nicklas Sample

Particularly, like Crawford and Sample's first collaboration on Feeling Good, LIVE is a tremendously enjoyable affair. The only weakness I found is in it's slight lack of continuity, as tracks are taken - not from one concert - but several across Europe. Still, perhaps a minor point that didn't detract from the album's overall appeal.

Been playing lots of vinyl today:

Joanne Brackeen - Special Identity / Keyed In
I recently discovered Brackeen, and her music has really caught my ear. These two trio LPs (with Eddie Gomez & Jack DeJohnette) are both superb.

Arthur Blythe - Blythe Spirit
I love how Blythe uses a tuba instead of a string bass on this.

Johnny Griffin - Return of the Griffin
Johnny Griffin's best record?

David Virelles Continuum

Great record! Andrew Cyrille's drumming is worth the price alone ...
