Another great tune, Michael! A boppin altered blues in G. If you play the first 12 measures of Miles version of the Freedom Jazz Dance head over the basic form, transposed from Bb to G, it fits perfectly.

Do I hear echoes of Keith Emerson in there? I love the way he used fourths, probably influenced by more modern classical composers. I've had great fun in the past trying to arrange some of his keyboard stuff for guitar.

Thanks, Joe! I guess there could be some Emerson in there. I asked myself once or twice,"is this jazzy enough?" as I was writing it, because it was the opener for our show in a jazz festival. I've been a fan of Emerson since I was a teenager and finally learned Karnevil, the part with the lyric, "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends..." My wife and a perform that with just piano and voice in a 2-person show (if you can imagine that)!
