Bright Size Life (from Bright Size Life)
The Search (from American Garage)
Two Folk Songs (from 80/81)
It's For You/Estupenda Graca (from As Falls Witchita...)
The First Circle (from First Circle)
Dream Of The Return (from Letter From Home)
Finding And Believing (from Secret Story)
Travels (from Trio 99>00... this whole record is killer BTW)
As It Is (from Speaking Of Now)
Ahmid-6 (from Metheny Mehldau)

That was fun... had to leave off many, many favourites to get it down to 10 but there you go (and obviously cheated majorly by having It's For You/Estupenda Graca as one track). Ask me again tomorrow etc, but these 10/11 tracks are definitely firm favourites. Cheers and welcome to the board.

I must confess to not being a big Pat Metheny fan. A few years back he performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival and one of the people in attendance was telling my wife and myself how her ex-husband had introduced her to his music and told her what a religious like experience it was seeing him live. She obviously had adopted that type of reverent attitude as well. I dont share that love of his music, BUT I do have two favorites by him that stop me cold anytime I hear them:

1. As Falls Witchita So Falls Witchita Falls
2. Spiritual (duet with Charlie Haden)

The list was limited to 10. It's not that Metheny hasn't done anything good since 1994 , it's just that there isn't a standout (for me) coming from those years. but I have to admit I haven't heard all of his albums thoroughly, and I'm sure there are gems that eluded me (I hope they'll get me one day).

And on the same topic- if you guys haven't heard the album Upojenie - by polish singer Anna Maria Jopek, with Metheny sharing the title - there are some exciting moments there. Metheny made few ventures into vocal music and they are all recomended (Joni Mitchell, Milton Nascimento, Noa and this one).
