Sam Rivers, Dave Holland, Barry Altschul - Reunion: Live In New York



This album is awesome. Masters at work giving a master class in how to create warm, entertaining, accessible free jazz. Highly recommended.

Yes, vastly underrated. Although I don't entirely know why that should be. Perhaps due to that he was better known as a sideman (notably with Mingus of course) ? Another who - it almost goes without saying - deserves to be better known, despite recording on Blue Note ...
