I'm glad I saw her live here in London last year.

Great list, rocklandpiano but you'll have to name songs; so your 10 favourite female vocal songs, which song sung by who exactly.

I've found my no 10 I think.

Astrud Gilberto - The Gentle Rain

I am not sure if to reply, as I am not usually fond of vocal jazz, but here are ten cuts I do like, in approximate chronological order:

Mildred Bailey - Where Are You?
Ivie Anderson - Oh Babe! Maybe Someday (live version 2)
(Rocks in My Bed and Hayfoot, Strawfoot are also up there)
Helen Forrest - Deep Purple
Dinah Washington - I've Got You Under My Skin (live - Dinah Jams)
Annie Ross - Between the Devil ...
Sheila Jordan - Willow, Weep For Me
Marisa Monte - Balança a Pema
(Or possibly her Volte Para O Seu Lar)
Celia Vaz, Wanda Sa - Escravos do Jo
(or their Amazon River)
Adriana Calcanhotto - Pelos Aires
Norah Jones - The Nearness of You

Some may argue some of these are 'not jazz' ... but, well, that's an old one!
