My new band, Dan Lehner's Memory Field, prepares for the release of its debut!

Hello citizens of the forums!

I've talked about this in brief, but I've put together a new quartet (trombone, sax, bass and drums), called Dan Lehner's Memory Field, and we just finished recording our debut record "Spoken Migration". I wanted to start this thread up to give you all some updates leading up to the online release of the album officially.

I'm going to leak various things piecemeal to build up some interest. I'll be releasing the mp3's one by one and I'm also going to be commissioning some artwork from various friends to promote and augment each song.

Today, I'll be giving you guys a preview of the record through a new concept I experimented with today - a "musical trailer". Like a film trailer, I cut up bits and pieces of the record and created a pastiche of what the record is going to sound like as a whole. All five songs are represented, plus a little intro of a Southern robot caught in the rain reciting Faulkner (well, a
simulation of that anyway). Here it is:

Enjoy and let me know what you think so far!

Dan, i really liked what i heard in your audio trailer. Hard to make too much of a judgement based on the previews but i would definitely be proud if that music was coming out under my name. Looking forward to hearing some full tracks!

Cheers,

Chris

I'll have a proper full release of the album once I have the artwork finished (collaborating with an artist friend), but in the meantime, I'm posting the albums up on SoundCloud to be checked out for free.

Here's the first one - "Anarchism in Spanish"

Enjoy!
