Count for something?! Me thinks it counts for almost everything in that field/business.

Homer,

Just saw your updated first post.

Honestly, I didn't intend for my joking around to put anyone off.

My apologies if my words caused any offense.

Super Bowl Lip Sync?

Ok, lets get this thread back on track... There should be referees during the Super Bowl
half-time show in case someone throws a challenge flag on Beyonce. The referees can
review the playback to determine if there was lip syncing or not. I just don't know what
an appropriate penalty would be. Any thoughts?

Personally, I think she is a very good singer and I liked her in the Austin Powers movie.

Ha ha. Good one, Chris. I heard her sing the anthem today live today on CNN after admitting to the lip synching. I didn't need any further proof of what I already know. He he. She's as good a singer as I am a bass player! LMAO.

If only I had looks and a body like that, then I could be in business!

Personally, I always thought Kelly Rowland had the more emotive "voice" in Destiny's Child and Beyoncé the "look."

Ian, you do make a compelling point. I just watched this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6EevK9k1Q0

As Austin Powers would say... "...ouch, baby... very ouch..."

Actually Chris, I just listened to it with my headphones on and to be fair; she is on there. To me it sounded like she was struggling the first time I heard it on TV, but I don't know, bro, I don't like this girl as a singer. There are so many who are so so so much better.

Comparing pop singing with real singing is like comparing apples and potatoes.

She really put a lot of effort into that press conference performance especially performing acapella.

The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir was extra special on inuaguration day though;

With good reason. In French a potato is a pomme de terre.

(Or was that your point ...?)

Any likelihood of a "lipsync malfunction" at today's Superbowl?

Well I tried it, then one day someone came up to me and said I sound like a moose with laryngitis. If I could have found a convenient rock to crawl under and hide I would have done just that.

Page,

If I could sing do you think I'd be sitting here in my retirement sipping a margarita on my terraza, enjoying a magnificent sunset over the distant mountains above the beautiful town of Pátzcuaro spread out below?

Naw. I'd be singing at a broken-down piano for fifty buck a night in some dark, sleazy Brooklyn saloon filled with polluted air from cancerous tobacco smoke and mean drunks, wondering how I'd get home after my car was towed.

Luckily, my lack of talent saved me.

Cheers,
Jer
