I can't carry a tune in a bucket.

OTOH, I don't make any such claims, either.

Naw. I'd be singing at a broken-down piano for fifty buck a night in some dark, sleazy Brooklyn saloon filled with polluted air from cancerous tobacco smoke and mean drunks, wondering how I'd get home after my car was towed.

Luckily, my lack of talent saved me.

Cheers,

Gosh Jerry... you mean you wouldn't trade all that if you had half a voice?

I do have half a voice, Chris. The speaking half.

Well I felt that I had to speak up for her a bit. I don't lip sync myself, never have, but maybe she was told to do so by her manager or someone in charge of the event. I don't know. I agree with Homer that live should be live and also that this sort of thing would sooner happen in pop genre than in jazz, simply because jazz is all about live and improvising so a song is different every time because of that. However I don't question her ability as a singer because of this. I'm not her fan, never have been, not of her genre either but I don't know her reason so who am I to judge her over this. That is what I meant.

Ian, I know what you sound like and I do not agree. I think you could be a singer and I'd duet with you any time.

Jerry, I'd love to be able to visit and come sit with you on the terraza and drink a marguerita with you and yes I'd pick that over that saloon you mentioned. (Remember I'm a non smoker.)

Jbc, I think it is a bit harsh to state she is not a real singer since she lip sync-ed (is that a word?) this time. She can sing, you don't have to like it but cut her some slack.

Have a lovely day guys.

In my youth I used to sing with a group but my lips sank, quite a few years ago.
