Studio One Scorcher Instrumentals ~ Various Artists

A killer selection from the best Ska tracks through to Jazz tinged Roots Reggae, spread over 3 LPs. A great helping of instrumental Jamaican music.

Been going through a huge revival of interest in 10cc lately, largely the result of this:

And this:

So I picked up

and

And have been loving it all, so I shelled out a little over $50 for:

which just arrived today, so diving in. It wasn't well received at the time, but I am wondering if time will be kinder to it. I always liked the group (up to Deceptive Bends; Bloody Tourists was meh, and still largely is, though the live album from around the time, Live and Let Live isn't bad - but the earlier In Concert, with the original lineup, doing material from the first couple records is better), but am absolutely loving them right now, so let's see how Consequences does. The Japanese box is certainly a lovely thing to have and hold....no digipak or jewelcase this!

Madness - I had this pre-ordered, but it didn't ship until Saturday. Expecting it to drop through the mail box tomorrow morning.

I also ordered five live CD's of Thompson from his web site. They're here, and I hope to listen soon. He's playing in Cambridge in a couple weeks - just 30 minutes or so from me.....
