Matt Bauder - Day in Pictures

Intriguing album; very traditional (circa mid fifties - early sixties blue note) but in an idiosyncratic way. The more i listen the more the idiosyncrasies shine through.

It's funny you should post this now. Just yesterday, I was listening to the HUM (Humair/Urtreger/Michelot) 3 cd set released by Sketch at the turn of the century. For what it's worth, this trio had played together since the late 1950s, and this set contains a disc with their first album from 1960, a subsequent recording from 1979, and lastly, a recent (at that time) one from 1999. Definitely worth seeking out if you don't already have it. I am not sure if it's easy to find though. Of course, there are many other wonderful Humair releases, including several in a trio with Joachim Kuhn and J.F. Jenny-Clark.
