Musicians don't get paid enough in jazz clubs ANYWHERE
...and it's not a new situation. The problems arise from the "door gig" ..since there are far more musicians than there are venues .. door gigs !

There is a Youtube with Harold Maburn and he's talking about he was making good money playing gig's in the 60's, and making "good money" now for gigs and its the same amount of money.

The situation regarding available work and the number of musicians reminds me of a rather wry joke.
