Ugh. I don't know what's worse: That song or these square "translations".

Also, Wayne doesn't sing the chorus of that song, and I doubt the "sh-sh-she" thing was anything more than him trying to sound cool. The word itself probably did not factor into the decision to make that stammer.

I will post his analysis of Lil Wayne's music.

Mark Levine is in the process of writing a book explaining the genre known as "Gangsta Rap". He calls it "The Rap Theory Book". He will do his best to explain Lil' Wayne's music. He will analyze the lyrical and harmonic content of his music. Try not to get offended, this rap is based around interpersonal relationships.

"She say he so sweet make her wanna lick the rapper
So I letta lick the rapper"

Lyrical Translation: A female has commented on my sexual presence. She expresses interest in giving me oral pleasure. I permitted her access to my loins.

Harmonic Analysis: The primary motif in this part of the performance is Lil Wayne's use of the word "rapper". He uses this configuration of tones coupled with his master of the minor 6 pentatonic scale to deliver his intensely clever metaphor: rapper instead of wrapper. This exhibits Lil Waynes ability to craft the most clever metaphors in rap history.

"Sh-sh-sh-she licked me like a lollypop (lollypop)
Sh-sh-she licked me like a lollypop (lollypop)
Sh-sh-sh-she licked me like a lollypop (lollypop)
Sh-sh-she licked me like a lollypop (lollypop)"

Lyrical Analysis: I received oral sex from a female.

Harmonic and Melodic Analysis: Wayne here uses the harmonic minor scale to color this section of the composition with textures familiar to the romantic period in classical music. He is also utilizing the lollypop word as a metaphor for the male sex organ. He rhythmically assaults us with the Sh-Sh-Sh-She phrase to highlight that the sex of the person that he is enagaging in sexual activity with is indeed a female. Genius use of phrasing.

CHORUS:
"Shawty wanna thug (yah yah)
bottles in the club (yah yah yah)
shawty wanna hump (yah yah yah)
and ooo i like to touch ya lovely lady lumps
( Repeat 2x )"

Lyrical Analysis: A female who is pursuing me is attracted to the fact that I have experienced the vicssitudes of life. She also appreciates that I have access to expensive bottles of liquor, ready for consumption. She would like to engage in intercourse with me. I appreciate her voluptuous physique and also lavish in the experience that she is providing me.

Harmonic and Melodic Analysis: Lil Wayne here is using an eastern persian scale to great effect in this passage. He is modulating through 6 keys simultaneously. He is doing this so fast that to the untrained ear it seems like 1 key. Genius use of phrasing once again.

[Verse 1: Lil' Wayne]
"Okay, lil mama had a swag like mine
even wear her hair down her back like mine
i make her feel right when it's wrong like lyin
Man, she ain never had a love like mine
n' man i aint never seen a ass like her's
and that pussy in my mouth had me at a loss for words
told her to back it up like erp erp and make that ass jump like jerp jerpand thats when she licked like a lollipop"

Lyrical Analysis: Alright, A young female in my presence aged 18-24 carried herself in a confident manner. She is using the techniques I have used to appear fashionable. She even has a similar hairstyle to me and this helps create an attraction between us. I utilize my extensive knowledge of psychology to create the illusion that she has no problems when in fact there are many elements in her life and are seemingly incomplete. I would also like to note at this time that I am attracted to her physique. When the time came to engage in oral sex, I was simply unable to speak because of the intense pleasure I was experiencing. I instructed her in the art of pleasing me. I taught her to utilize her dancing techniques in actual sex acts to heighten her skills + mastery of the act. She was pleased with this "hands-on" instruction and thanked me by giving me oral sex.

Harmonic and Melodic Analysis: Once again Lil Wayne uses creative modulation techniques. He is using a basic cycle 5 progression here but he throws us a curve ball in bar 5. He modulates from the key of C# Major to B Major. This modulation is achieved with his master of pivot chords. He uses D#min7/G#7/C#-7/F#7 to resolve to B Major 69. Genius use of modulation in this piece. I think if Bach hear this music he would defecate in his pants. Wayne then uses extensive whole tone scales to get the point across that he is the greatest rapper alive.

Really? We're supposed to embrace this as intelligent satire? This excerpt is expected to inspire people to buy this book? I'm not sure if I'm more irritated by the lazy writing or the premises' overall lack of originality. Seriously, Mark Levine owes David Alan Grier and the In Living Color writers a cut of the sales. I tell ya, there's nothing so endearing as snootiness.
Nah, I'm just kidding. It's totally clever.

Your assessment of the excerpt is dead-on accurate. Your assessment of my post was not. Apparently I should've inserted a graphic around my 'clever' comment to indicate sarcasm.

Did anybody hear that Lil Wayne suffered a seizure over the weekend?

He was supposedly on life support. Too much purple drank, perhaps?

I hope the kid conquers his demons and gets rid of his drug addictions.

Yeah i heard about it and from what i heard it was indeed the result of a Sizzurp binge. I'm no expert on Lil Wayne but from what i've heard and read his lifestyle is definitely going to be killing him unless he changes.
