Listening to "Bar Wars" with "Gator" and Pat Martino and I have to say this guy is one of the most overlooked saxophonist of all time !!.His early work includes stints with the Duke and later in the early 60's a very young Pat Martino with some of the greatest soul/blues/funk jazz on record !!!

Ahh! he got tagged as an R&B man -- that is even more beyond the pale than Jazz is

I buy everything I can find by him, preferably in the original Vinyl

One of the greats for sure along with Arnett Cobb,Illinois Jacquet,Jimmy Forrest,Ike Quebec... blues drenched sax players
