Roberta Gambarini - she's really great, deserving a lot more attention than she's got up to now. You'll find a thread on her at the Artists and Bands section here.

Maria Pia de Vito.
Hardly up and coming as she's been working for years but has been working in the UK in recent years and has a high profile here. You can hear her on: An excellent solo album, very different from the normal standards type disc most contemporary vocalists put out. This one with John Taylor and Ralph Towner is beautiful too: She has sung with Colin Towns orchestra and band to great effect: and 'Nowhere and Heaven' and 'Dreaming Man in Blue Suede Shoes'. There are a lot of Italian recordings too, for example: Details about this wonderful singer here: http://www.ijm.it/ Use the search engine. The bio comes in Italian first, in English further down the page. |
