Need some recommendations

Hi all,

My knowledge and interests in jazz have widened since I started on this forum, but I have found a certain kind of sound that I really enjoy - the kind that gets my foot tapping and shoulders moving. Not saying this is a bad thing, but I almost exclusively find this kind of sound on Blue Note. I was wondering if you guys had any pointers where I could find similar things away from Blue Note artists? Many thanks.

I suggest Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, these Blue Note albums: Moanin', The Big Beat, The Freedom Rider, Free For All.

Charles Mingus, these albums: Mingus Ah Um, Mingus Dynasty, Tijuana Moods.

Oliver Nelson: The Blues and the Abstract Truth

Horace Silver: a Blue Note anthology or best of, as his catchy songs are spread over several albums

Herbie Hancock: a Blue Note anthology or best of, as his catchy songs are spread over several albums

Cal Tjader: Soul Sauce
