No mention of it on the Atavistic web site.

I was gonna say this must be a mistake, but I noticed at AMG that Clarke recorded an album in the early 80's with Andrew Cyrille, Famodou Don Moye, and Milford Graves. Wow. Whodathunk?

(i have no idea which album UMS is releasing - I was just pointing out that I didn't know he ever tried any out stuff)

We also need Savoy to get on the ball (as in Ronnie) and re-issue "Klook's Clique" ....it's incredible that this session is nowhere to be found. It doesn't get much better than "Volcano" imo.

Yeah, that was PIECES OF TIME on Soul Note. Interesting stuff, and my first guess. But would Atavistic do Soul Note?

Oh c'mon now, that's not really true, is it? Probably the same place I found mine.

They're doing FMP, which is still a very active label, so maybe. Still, that's a weird one. I mean, there must be a whole buncha oop Black Saint/Soul Notes that are more essential than that one (not that I've heard it, but it's a guess).

Some of us "old guys" have actually talked about it on JC (Jobless Corner).

Isn't that the Mental Cruelty (the 1960 jazz soundtrack) that is being discussed on another thread here?
The Mental Cruelty CD is to be released by Atavistic and it features the George Gruntz ensemble with Barney Wilen and Kenny Clarke. A very rare item.

Actually, the vast majority of the items in Black Saint / SOul Note catalog are still in print...
